Arnold Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller (13 July 1913 – 16 April 2012), the Danish shipping magnate has passed away this morning 16-04-2012, he was 98 years of age.

Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller was son of Arnold Peter Møller (the Founder of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group), and an American called Chastine Estelle Roberta McKinney. He was married with his wife Emma Neergaard Rasmussen in 1940, until her death in 2005. They have born three daughters together.

The company “Maersk Line (A.P. Moller - Maersk Group)” is the World’s largest shipping company, and based in Denmark.

His estimated fortune was in 2006 set to 141.2 billion DKK (~ 24.8 billion USD), and his personal wealth was set to 7.0 billion DKK (~ 1.3 billion USD).

Through his life, he has donated many large donations to different charitable purposes, and buildings.
Buildings: Copenhagen Opera House (as a gift for Magrethe II, the current Queen of Denmark), Amalienborg Palace, Amaliehaven, A new, better and larger area for the Polar Bears in Copenhagen Zoo (currently under construction), A top-modern and artistic college in South Schleswig, and more.

He was absolutely the most succesful Danish business man since the end of World War II.

He was active, both personally and in the business, until the end of his life.

Mr. Møller was known for the concept: Rettidig omhu (~ “Constant care: Take care of today, prepare for tomorrow”), which he learned from his father.
